The presiding overseer of the Latter Rain Church and the convener of Save Nigeria Group, Pastor Tunde Bakare has lambasted the Presidency for giving him a cow as gift this Christmas.

He told his congregation in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, on Sunday that he did not solicit for the cow which he said was dumped at the office of the Save Nigeria Group, SNG, in Lagos by people from the Presidency.

According to Bakare, “I had a cow from the Presidency. I didn’t ask for it. They dropped it at the Save Nigeria Group office… But is it cow that we need? If you check their books, one cow could have been bought for $5,000. The rest of the money is pocketed! We don’t need cow, we need a country that will move forward!”

Check-Out The Cars At the Student Parking Lot of The American University Of Dubai [PHOTOS]

This is the height, its highly impossible to see such in Nigeria, even senior lecturers don't have cars like this, it just shows how good money is and how much it can make a person happy.

Reddit user Squirrelnelius, aka Meeka Nasser, is a student at the American University of Dubai, and posted these photos of the amazing cars that fill the school's parking lot. He wrote:

Because Cayennes and Range Rovers are a dime a dozen here, I only included a few of them in the album.

Keep in mind, almost all of the students are between 18 and 24 years old, as the graduate program is pretty tiny here. The students that drive the insanely expensive cars (Rolls Royces and Bentleys etc.) are usually local (Emirati) for those wondering.

Nasser gave us permission to run some of the photos, so we've picked out our favorites for your viewing pleasure. (We've blocked the license plates)

Call Me MAMA Peace not Patience again - First Lady

Mrs. Jonathan made the declaration on Friday while inaugurating the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme Maternal and Child Health, otherwise known as MAMA Project. She had stressed that henceforth, she should be addressed as “Mama Peace owning to her various peace projects.”
She said that one major reason why the change of name became necessary was her continuous campaign against the menace of Boko Haram Islamic sect in Nigeria.

Mama Peace also stated that her non-governmental organisation, Women for Change Initiative, had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with some international health agencies and hospitals to build, equip and manage the best hospital for women and children in Africa.

According to her, “My name is no more Patience but now Mama Peace because I believe that without peace, there will be no more women, no more children and no more health sector. Without peace, the international community will be afraid to come and invest in our country.
“Peace is from the heart and not from the tongue or lips; not what you say but what is in you. We pray for genuine peace because peace is the key to our arriving at our desired destination as a nation.
“We are approaching the new year which is a year of peace, progress and so many good things to come. 2014 is going to be a year of no militancy and no Boko Haram because God will shower peace and make us take a U-turn from disaster.”

There is No Rapture or Hell Fire says Pastor Blessed Oguguamakwa Dikeh

“There is nothing like rapture. If you tell me that rapture means when a person dies, his soul goes back to God and his flesh to the dust, then I will agree, but anything other than that, I don’t agree. Don’t let anybody deceive you

Founder of “As The Lord Said, It Should Be Done Temple”, Pastor Blessed Oguguamakwa Dikeh seems to be in the mould of those who are out to challenge the status quo. He has declared that Christians should forget about the second coming of Jesus Christ (rapture), saying that it would never come to pass.

In his words: “There is nothing like hell fire after life. Heaven is here on earth already. When you are suffering, you are in hell fire. If you are in poverty and cannot pay your house rent then you are already in hell. But when you are in heaven, even if you reside in a flat, your landlord will come and beg you for money. He would even say don’t worry, I will give the other tenant quit notice for you.”
In an Interview with Daily Independent, Pastor Dikeh further insisted that:

British Petroleum Fired a Staff for puting on a Traditional Dress

A black woman says she was fired from British Petroleum (BP) for wearing a dashiki and for wearing her hair in braids.

Melphine Evans was a vice president and CFO for two BP ofshoots. Now, she is suing those companies and nine individuals, saying she was told that how she dressed was only appropriate “during ‘culture day,’ black history month or special diversity events/days,” and that it was making her colleagues “uncomfortable.”

The dashiki, a piece of traditional West African clothing, became a political and cultural symbol for African Americans during the 1960s, a marker of solidarity with the struggle for economic and racial equality. But that isn’t necessarily why Evans was wearing it; dashikis simply resemble long, patterned shirts.

After Letter Issue, Obasanjo and Jonathan Meet in Kenya

President Goodluck Jonathan and former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, had breakfast together in Nairobi, Kenya, on December 12, 2013, Thursday.
Both politicians were among other African leaders that graced the 50th Independence Anniversary celebration of Kenya at the Safaricom Stadium in Kasarani, Nairobi, on Thursday, December 12.
Obasanjo's visit was said to have taken everybody by surprise as it contradicts the expected nature of the relationship between both men, owing to recent public criticisms of the President by Obasanjo.
The unexpected meeting held prior to the anniversary event, as the former president, Obasanjo, paid a surprise visit to President Jonathan at the Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi, where they had a private breakfast together.

Reports say the two politicians had a "fruitful discussion" after emerging from the meeting beaming with smiles and sharing a warm handshake.

A New Treatment That Stops Snoring at Night

While most people think of snoring as a minor annoyance, research shows it can be hazardous to your health.  That’s because for over 18 million Americans it’s related to obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). People who suffer from OSA repeatedly and unknowingly stop breathing during the night due to a complete or partial obstruction of their airway.  It occurs when the jaw, throat, and tongue muscles relax, blocking the airway used to breathe.  The resulting lack of oxygen can last for a minute or longer, and occur hundreds of times each night.
Thankfully, most people wake when a complete or partial obstruction occurs, but it can leave you feeling completely exhausted.  OSA has also been linked to a host of health problems including:

 1.Acid reflux
 2.Frequent nighttime urination
 3.Memory loss
 4.Stroke
 5.Depression
 6.Diabetes
 7.Heart attack

People over 35 are at higher risk.

Time Magazine Named Pope Francis Person of the Year

NEW YORK (AP) — Time magazine selected Pope Francis as its Person of the Year on Wednesday, saying the Catholic Church’s new leader has changed the perception of the 2,000-year-old institution in an extraordinary way in a short time.

The pope beat out NSA leaker Edward Snowden for the distinction, which the newsmagazine has been giving each year since 1927.

The former Argentine Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected in March as the first pope from Latin America and the first Jesuit. Since taking over at the Vatican, he has urged the Catholic Church not to be obsessed with “small-minded rules” and to emphasize compassion over condemnation in dealing with touchy topics like abortion, gays and contraception.

Bamanga Tukur Warn Obasanjo to trend with Caution

The embattled national chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, Bamanga Tukur, has called on the former chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Olusegun Obasanjo, to tread with caution. Mr. Tukur’s censure was issued in a statement issued by his spokesman in reaction to a fiery public letter by Mr. Obasanjo in which President Goodluck Jonathan was accused of acting against the interests of the PDP as well as engaging in other undemocratic acts.

Mr. Obasanjo, who was Nigeria’s president from 1999 to 2007, was instrumental in installing Mr. Jonathan in office.

Reacting to Mr. Obasanjo’s controversial letter, Mr. Tukur said it was wrong for the former president to insinuate in his letter that Mr. Jonathan was using Mr. Tukur to cause confusion in the increasingly fractious ruling party.

A Letter Of Appeal To A Deceitful, Lying And Destructive President Jonathan from Obasanjo

December 2, 2013
His Excellency,
Dr. Goodluck E. Jonathan, GCFR
President and Commander-in-Chief
of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Presidential Villa,
Asokoro, Abuja.

Dear Mr. President,

I am constrained to make this an open letter to you for a number of reasons. One, the current situation and consequent possible outcome dictate that I should, before the door closes on reason and promotion of nation interest, alert you to the danger that may be lurking in the corner. Two, none of the four or more letters I have written to you in the past two years or so has elicited neither an acknowledgement nor any response. Three, people close to you, if not yourself, have been asking, what does Obasanjo want? Four, I could sense a semblance between the situation that we are gradually getting into and the situation we fell into as a nation during the Abacha era. Five, everything must be done to guard, protect and defend our fledgling democracy, nourish it, and prevent bloodshed. Six, we must move away from advertently or inadvertently dividing the country along weak seams of North-South and Christian-Moslem. Seven, nothing should be done to allow the country to degenerate into economic dormancy, stagnation or retrogression. Eight, some of our international friends and development partners are genuinely worried about signs and signals that are coming out of Nigeria. Nine, Nigeria should be in a position to take advantage of the present favourable international interest to invest in Africa – an opportunity that will not be open for too long. Ten, I am concerned about your legacy and your climb-down which you alone can best be the manager of, whenever you so decide.

Nigerian Civil Rights Groups Demand Lagos State Governor Give Labor Leader, Ayodele Akele, His Job Back

Members of 50 Nigerian civil rights groups rallied today calling on the Lagos State Governor to reinstate Ayodele Akele to his job.

The Akele Reinstatement Campaign Organization said Akele, a former Chairman of the Council of Industrial Unions, was sacked from his civil service job thirteen years ago after leading a strike of 40,000 Lagos State workers to demand minimum wages and better working conditions.
The workers demanded a wage increase by 7,500 Naira ($75) a month. A worker, Adigun Popoola died during the strike.

The strike inspired workers in 12 other Nigerian states to also walk off the job over poor working conditions and pay. Many thousands lost their jobs as a result.

Jonathan, Alison-Madueke, Okonjo-Iweala Involved In NNPC Diversion Of $50 Billion Crude Oil Funds

President Goodluck Jonathan and two of his top ministers may be attempting a cover-up on what clearly competes as Nigeria’s biggest fraud ever, involving the illegal diversion, or theft, of over N8 trillion crude oil sales proceeds.

In a frantic and unusual memo to the president on September 25, 2013, Central Bank governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi detailed how government-owned oil firm, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, had systematically diverted the huge sum, being sales proceeds between January 2012 and July 2013.

The CBN governor said for all crude oil sales within the period, the NNPC paid only 24 percent proceeds into the federation account, and diverted or stole the remaining 76 percent-totalling N8 trillion.

As the CBN calculated, the NNPC sold at least 594 million barrels of oil within the period, and should have paid N10.3 trillion (USD65.3 billion) into the federation account. But the corporation paid only N2.5 trillion (USD15.5 billion), Mr. Sanusi said, citing documentation from pre-shipment inspectors.

The whereabouts of the huge balance is unknown.

President Goodluck Jonathan aiding and abetting Corruption in Nigeria - Aminu Tambuwal

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, yesterday launched a scathing attack against President Goodluck Jonathan accusing him of insincerity in his administration’s fight against corruption. Tambuwal, who advanced reasons for blaming the President for the growing spate of corruption in the country, wondered why the Presidency would be setting up committees to investigate cases of corruption.

He said that the Executive had no business investigating cases of corruption. The Speaker said what was expected of the executive was to refer “these matters to the EFCC and I trust the EFCC, they will do a good job.

“I tell you, let the Executive have the will for referring these matters from the office of Mr. President to EFCC and you will see what will happen. But if the body language is not correct, this is what you get,” he said.

Wole Soyinka Comment on Mandela's Death

The death of former South African President, Nelson Mandela, seems to have left Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, world acclaimed wordsmith, short of words. He appears to be so shell-shocked and devastated. In a rare and short tribute to former South African president and anti-apartheid hero, Nelson Mandela, Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka had this to say "

"The soul of Africa has departed, and there is nothing miraculous left in the world."

Poplular Quotes by NELSON MANDELA

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

“When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw.”

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

“I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is keeping one’s head pointed toward the sun, one’s feet moving forward. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat and death.”

Denmark rated cleanest in corruption index, Nigeria ranks 144

Iran, Nigeria and Ukraine tied at 144, Zimbabwe was at 157 and Venezuela 160

Denmark and New Zealand were the nations seen as most free of corruption and Somalia was ranked last, according to this year’s Corruption Perceptions Index.

The report, released today by Berlin-based Transparency International, ranks states based on how corrupt their public sectors are perceived to be. More than two-thirds of the 177 countries surveyed in 2013 scored below 50 on a scale where zero is seen as highly corrupt and 100 perceived as very clean. Greece, the epicenter of Europe’s sovereign debt crisis which erupted in 2009, was among the biggest improvers, while Australia was one of those to witness the largest declines.

“All countries still face the threat of corruption at all levels of government, from the issuing of local permits to the enforcement of laws and regulations,” Huguette LaBelle, chairman of Transparency International, said in a statement.
